“A Peace of My Mind” exhibit celebrating differences, commonalities coming to WVU Potomac State College, Sept. 26 - 29
The local communities are invited to the studio exhibit, A Peace of My Mind, that will be set up on the West Virginia University Potomac State College campus in the Mary F. Shipper Library, Sept. 26 through 29, in Keyser, W.Va. Library hours are Monday through Wednesday, 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Thursday and Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. This exhibit is free and open to the public.
WVU, PSC team up on NSF-funded project to recruit and retain biology students to Keyser campus
The West Virginia University Potomac State College and Center for Excellence in STEM Education have been awarded $749,996 from the National Science Foundation to build a stronger pipeline of rural, low-income biology students at WVU.
The Pathways to Academic Student Success for biology majors (PASS) project aims to recruit and retain West Virginia students into PSC’s two-year biology program, as well as help project participants transfer to Morgantown campus’ four-year biology program, if desired.
Keyser Campus Nursing Academy offers youngsters a glimpse into the nursing profession

Stepping into Grapes and Grains being offered by Potomac State College
Learn the art of winemaking, the fundamentals of fermentation, what grapes and fruits are available, and the difference between lagers and ales. In this special interest class, participants will explore and develop the basic knowledge and skills needed to establish a home production of wines and beers.
Stepping into Grapes and Grains will meet every other Thursday on Oct. 6, 20, and Nov. 3, 17 from 6 to 8:45 p.m. in the PSC Starcher Agriculture Complex on the campus of WVU Potomac State College. The class will culminate with a group field trip to a local brewery on Saturday, December 3. More information regarding the field trip will be provided during the class.

Professor Huffman promoted to associate dean at WVU Potomac State College
“I’m pleased to announce that we have completed the search process for an associate dean of academic affairs and enthusiastically welcome West Virginia University Potomac State College Professor Vicki Huffman to the position,” said Phil Douthitt, who serves as academic dean for the College. “We know her experience in various roles at the College has prepared her for this position,”
Highland Arts Unlimited Kicks Off 50th Season with Pan Jammin’ Steel Drum Band
Highland Arts Unlimited (HAU) will kick off the 2022-2023 season with a free concert by the Pan Jammin’ Steel Drum Band Thursday, Aug. 18, at 6:30 p.m., in the Church-McKee Arts Center auditorium on the campus of WVU Potomac State College.
WVU Hub streamlines student services across all campuses
The University has created a student services hub to streamline student services for all things related to finances (financial aid, scholarships, billing, etc.) across the WVU System.
While services have been available since earlier this year, a soft opening of new physical locations is taking place this week at WVU Tech in Beckley and Potomac State College in Keyser. WVU Hub services are also available on the Morgantown campus and for WVU Online. These Hubs will be fully functional and ready to receive students and parents starting Aug. 11.
“Appalachian Futures” Exhibit on display at WVU Potomac State College’s Library
“Appalachian Futures,” West Virginia University Libraries’ multidisciplinary exhibition, addresses the current main-stream narratives about Appalachia in a new way, by looking at how the people of Appalachia have worked and will work to rewrite their own story.
