West Virginia University Potomac State College will offer a Mental Health and Addiction Studies major starting this fall for individuals who are interested in a helping profession. Earning an associate of arts degree will allow graduates to either enter the workforce or pursue an advanced degree such as a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mental Health and Addiction Studies on the Morgantown campus.
President's List Spring 2022
West Virginia University Potomac State College President Jennifer Orlikoff is pleased to announce that 165 students earned a place on the President’s list for spring 2022. To be eligible for the President’s List, a student must be enrolled for at least 12-credit hours of graded courses, excluding courses in which any grade of Audit, Pass or Incomplete is recorded, and must earn a grade-point average of 3.700 or higher for the semester.

To be eligible for the Dean’s List, a student must be enrolled for at least 12-credit hours of graded courses, excluding courses in which any grade of Audit, Pass or Incomplete is recorded, and must maintain a grade-point average of 3.000 to 3.699 for the semester.

Business Administration and Technology Instructor JoAnn Burnett was named the 2022 Outstanding Professor of the Year. Burnett started teaching at WVU Potomac State College as an adjunct instructor. She taught computer information systems during the 2017-2018 academic year. She then became a visiting professor in business during the 2018-2019 academic year followed by a tenure track position in 2019-2020.
Burnett also serves as an online instructor with the WVU Reed College of Media, Marketing & Communications graduate program.

Keyser Campus students complete mental health training
To better serve others who are struggling with mental health issues, three senior nursing students at the West Virginia University School of Nursing Keyser Campus recently completed Kognito Mental Health Training.
WVU completes COVID-19 dashboard updates, transitions to new website as semester ends
West Virginia University will transfer its COVID-19 dashboards from the current Return to Campus website, as well as other pandemic information and related resources, to a new website, wvu.edu/covid, beginning Monday, May 16.

KEYSER, WV, MAY 4, 2022 – Mark McCoy, Ph.D., a multi-talented composer, conductor, coach, and leader in higher education who currently serves as senior advisor to West Virginia University President Gordon Gee will be WVU Potomac State College’s 119th commencement speaker. The graduation ceremony will be held Saturday, May 7, beginning at 11 a.m. in the Church-McKee Arts Center.
