Highland Arts Unlimited will kick off the 2021-2022 season with a free concert by the Pan Jammin’ Steel Drum bands at 6:30 p.m., Aug. 25, in the Church-McKee Arts Center auditorium on the campus of WVU Potomac State College.
WVU to distribute 2021-22 emergency grants to students
Based on the latest guidance from the U.S. Department of Education, West Virginia University will distribute $27,271,733 in emergency grants to eligible students during the 2021-22 academic year.
Degree-seeking students on all WVU campuses who are attending classes at least half-time and have a 2021-22 Free Application for Federal Student Aid on file by Aug. 20 will be automatically considered for the American Rescue Plan Act funds authorized by the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund III. Graduate and professional students who meet the outlined criteria will be considered. Eligible international students will be contacted by the Office of Global Affairs with instructions on how to apply for consideration.

West Virginia University is providing additional guidance to students, faculty and staff as campuses prepare to fully reopen for the fall 2021 semester.
COVID-19 cases within the U.S. and West Virginia have increased in recent weeks. The delta variant has gained momentum, especially among young adults and the unvaccinated. As of Monday (Aug. 2), there were 2,480 active COVID-19 cases in West Virginia and the daily cumulative percent positivity is 4.93%. At this time, nearly 28% of Potomac State College faculty and staff and 26% of students have verified they are fully vaccinated.
Josh Steger named NACE Madden Coach of the Year
Keyser, W.Va. - WVU Potomac State College Head Esports Coach and Esports Director, Josh Steger earned high honors recently, as he was named NACE Madden Coach of the Year. Announced by the National Association of Collegiate Esports (NACE) at the NACE National Convention this week, Steger beat out hundreds of other coaches around the nation to gain the title.

Robin Llewellyn recognized as WVU Potomac State College’s 2021 Outstanding Staff Person
KEYSER, WV, JUNE 17, 2021 -- West Virginia University Potomac State College recently recognized Robin Llewellyn as the 2021 Outstanding Staff Person of Year. Llewellyn began her career with the College August 1, 2005, in Dining Services as a food service assistant. Then, Aug. 1, 2017, she was named a cook for the department.
