WVU Board of Governors approves 2023 budget, tuition rates
MORGANTOWN, W. Va.— The West Virginia University Board of Governors on Friday approved an estimated $1.2 billion budget for the coming fiscal year, including a tuition increase averaging a little more than 2.5% across the WVU system.

PSC Alumni Association Scholarship Fund approaches endowment status
The Potomac State College Alumni Association is excited to announce that they recently received a generous anonymous gift for their scholarship fund. This scholarship will support students enrolled at WVU Potomac State College
Because of this gift, the Alumni Association is remarkably close to creating an endowed scholarship fund which will enable them to provide annual scholarships in perpetuity.
Toothman receives Catamounts Climb Higher award at Potomac State College
Abraham Toothman admits he had many hurdles to overcome if he was going to succeed in College. “Working on my time management and sitting in the front row of classes, allowed me to absorb information better,” he said. “Setting a schedule of when to do my homework and making myself do it also helped me tremendously.”
WVU Potomac State College to offer Mental Health and Addiction Studies major this fall
West Virginia University Potomac State College will offer a Mental Health and Addiction Studies major starting this fall for individuals who are interested in a helping profession. Earning an associate of arts degree will allow graduates to either enter the workforce or pursue an advanced degree such as a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mental Health and Addiction Studies on the Morgantown campus.
President's List Spring 2022
West Virginia University Potomac State College President Jennifer Orlikoff is pleased to announce that 165 students earned a place on the President’s list for spring 2022. To be eligible for the President’s List, a student must be enrolled for at least 12-credit hours of graded courses, excluding courses in which any grade of Audit, Pass or Incomplete is recorded, and must earn a grade-point average of 3.700 or higher for the semester.

To be eligible for the Dean’s List, a student must be enrolled for at least 12-credit hours of graded courses, excluding courses in which any grade of Audit, Pass or Incomplete is recorded, and must maintain a grade-point average of 3.000 to 3.699 for the semester.

Students, faculty, staff, alumni recognized in spring 2022
Business Administration and Technology Instructor JoAnn Burnett was named the 2022 Outstanding Professor of the Year. Burnett started teaching at WVU Potomac State College as an adjunct instructor. She taught computer information systems during the 2017-2018 academic year. She then became a visiting professor in business during the 2018-2019 academic year followed by a tenure track position in 2019-2020.
Burnett also serves as an online instructor with the WVU Reed College of Media, Marketing & Communications graduate program.
