TAYLOR COUNTY—A former resident will be offering up ideas about leadership and talent through a series of short videos on YouTube.

Dr. Charles “Charlie” Bishop, Jr., a 1956 graduate of St. Augustine High School, is the founder of The Profitability Formula, LLC, a global consulting firm that specializes in making organizations more innovative, productive and, ultimately, more profitable.

Through his business, he consults and coaches leadership teams to help their organizations drive profitable, sustainable growth, focusing on what he calls the “people side” of the business.

Through a series of eight short vignettes, he will outline ideals that lead to leadership within an organization. The videos are extracted from Bishop’s world-wide webcast titled “Talent Management for C-Level and Beyond.”

Those wishing to access the webcast can visit www.youtube.com and search for Dr. Charlie Bishop. The search should return results such as “Dr. Charlie Bishop on How to Evaluate Direct Reports,” “Dr. Charlie Bishop on the Biggest Problems with Talent Management and How to Fix Them,” and “Dr. Charlie Bishop on the Impact of Diversity & Inclusion on Business Results,” among others.

Currently, Bishop resides in Glencoe, Illinois, a suburb of the North Shore of Chicago.

He is an accomplished, seasoned executive and published author. Charlie has over 20+ years of experience in senior level positions at Fortune 100 companies, including senior executive level positions at FedEx, Bank of America, Baxter, Inc. and ADT Security Services.

Following his graduation from St. Augustine High School, Bishop served in the US Marine Corp Air Wing in the early days of the Vietnam conflict. He then returned home to further his education.

After attending Potomac State College for a year, Dr. Bishop transferred to the Morgantown campus where he earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in psychology.  He earned a PhD, also in psychology, from the University of Georgia, and completed a post-doctoral internship in Mental Health at the Harvard University, Department of Psychiatry.

He has authored the book, “Making Change Happen One Person at a Time” which was cited by the University of Michigan School of Business as being ‘one of the 10 best books on change in the past 40 years.’

In recent years, Bishop was recognized by West Virginia University Potomac State College with the Alumni Achievement Award for his accomplishments.
