During a winter hat and sock donation drive hosted by the Student Nurses' Association at the WVU School of Nursing Keyser Campus, more than 100 items were collected.

Share well-being resources with students before end of semester stress begins
The end of the semester is a stressful time for many students. Becoming overwhelmed with project deadlines, presentations and final exams can take a toll on mental and physical health.
To promote students’ overall well-being, WVU faculty and staff are encouraged to share prevention resources and support services leading up to end-of-semester finals.

Foundations of Community Engaged Scholarship: A panel with faculty from multiple
institutions, will be held on Dec. 9, from 9:30 to 11 a.m. via Zoom. The ACE
(academic community engagement) series is free and open to the public.
Anyone interested in learning more about community engaged scholarship is invited
to attend this session which is designed to introduce new and varying perspectives
of academic community engagement through representation from other institutions.
The panel will introduce participants to community engaged scholars who have created
ACE partnerships with impact. Elements of strong partnerships to effectively
co-create academic community engagement will be discussed as well as examples of
successful faculty/community partnerships, considerations for initiating and sustaining
partnerships, and exploring resources to assist in partnership development or enhancement.
Panelists will also discuss how their ACE work has been impacted by Covid-19 and
will provide a preview for the spring series of workshops on academic community
engagement.

On November 11, 1918, at 11 a.m. – the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month - the Great War was officially over. So how did a celebration of the end of the Great War turn into Veterans Day?
PSC/Community Jazz Ensemble will present a free big-band jazz concert (Nov. 10)
The Potomac State College/Community Jazz Ensemble will present a big band jazz concert on Thursday, November 10, at 7:30 p.m., in the Church-McKee Arts Center on the campus of West Virginia University Potomac State College. The band will perform a variety of big band jazz styles including a couple of arrangements in honor of Veterans Day.

WVU Medicine Children’s Cardiac Operating Room named in honor of Dr. Robert Gustafson, Keyser native, PSC alumnus
Robert Gustafson, MD, associate dean for Faculty Services and professor emeritus
of Cardiovascular and Thoracic at the WVU School of Medicine, was recently honored
with the naming of a WVU Medicine Children’s Cardiac Operating Room in his behalf.
The OR is located on the third floor of the new nine-story, 150-bed Children’s
Hospital, in Morgantown, W.Va.
