Pan Jammin’ Steel Drums Kicks Off Highland Arts’ Season Aug. 15

Highland Arts Unlimited is a non-profit volunteer group dedicated to bringing quality music, drama, dance and visual arts programs to the community, as well as providing free arts programs to Mineral County Schools. The programs are funded by membership and corporate contributions, financial assistance from the West Virginia Division of Culture and History, the National Endowment for the Arts, with approval from the West Virginia Commission on the Arts, and financial support from the Mineral County Board of Education, with generous in-kind support from West Virginia University Potomac State College.

Up to, and during the first concert, those wishing to purchase a membership to the various programs will receive a 10 percent discount.

Highland Arts members and Potomac State College students receive free admission to all events.  Area students, 18 and under are also free. For further information about annual membership, visit www.highlandarts.org 

 

Pan Jammin’ Steel Drums  August 15, 2018 at 6:30 p.m. Church-McKee Arts Center 

Back by popular request, Pan Jammin’ Steel Drums will kick-off the season with a FREE concert.

7 Bridges: Eagles Tribute Band  October 4, 2018 at 7:30 p.m.  Church-McKee Arts Center 

The ultimate Eagles experience is a stunningly accurate tribute to the music of the highly acclaimed band, The Eagles.  7 Bridges faithfully re-creates the experience of an Eagles concert from the band’s most prolific periods.  Every show features one brilliant hit single after another, with some Don Henley and Joe Walsh surprises sprinkled into the mix, offering the perfect blend of songs to capture all levels of Eagles devotees.

Peabody Ragtime Ensemble  October 20, 2018 at 7:30 p.m.  Church-McKee Arts Center 

For more than 30 years, Peabody Ragtime Ensemble has been filling concert halls and bringing audiences to their feet with their infectious brand of delightfully diverse repertoire that has “spirits… singing, clapping, and shagging down the aisle!”

The Sicilian Tenors  December 2, 2018 at 3 p.m Church-McKee Arts Center 

“Christmas Amore” unites three marvelous tenor voices with the world’s best loved music to ring in the season and put joy in your heart.  Taking their audience on a romantic journey from Hollywood to Broadway to Italy, using multi-media backgrounds, storytelling and song, The Sicilian Tenors provide an evening of non-stop entertainment to lift the spirits, gladden the soul, and celebrate the Christmas miracle.

Hickory Wind with Bob Shank   March 29, 2019 at 7:30 p.m.  Church-McKee Arts Center 

Highland Arts welcomes Keyser native, Bob Shank, and his band, Hickory Wind, for a concert after a long absence.  In addition to being a renowned songwriter, Bob also plays the guitar, banjo and hammered dulcimer.  He has performed multiple times with Larry Groce on West Virginia’s ‘Mountain Stage.’

Don Stephens, Pianist     April 28, 2019 at 3 p.m.    Keyser Presbyterian Church

Back by popular demand, Don will again delight the audience with an afternoon of your favorites on the beautiful Steinway piano at the Keyser Presbyterian Church on 300 South Mineral Street.
