Potomac State College holds ‘Ribbon Cutting’ ceremony
Excitement was evident on the campus of West Virginia University (WVU) Potomac State College (PSC) during the recent ‘School of Nursing Ribbon Cutting’ at the newly installed high-tech simulation labs and classrooms. The College begins offering WVU’s School of Nursing Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree program on the Keyser campus this fall. Those who participated in the ‘Ribbon Cutting’ include (l-r): BSN Student Ashley Thompson; Nursing Program Chair April Shapiro, PhD, RN,; Dean Tara Hulsey, PhD, RN, CNE, FAAN, vice president of Health Promotion and Wellness at WVU, and dean of the WVU School of Nursing; PSC President Jennifer Orlikoff, PhD; President and CEO of Grant County Bank George Ford; and Keyser Mayor Damon Tillman. All speakers voiced their excitement with WVU’s BSN program being offered at Potomac State, along with the sentiment regarding the nation’s need for highly skilled nurses. Potomac State College is part of the WVU System located on the Keyser campus.
