The West Virginia University Potomac State College/Community Jazz Ensemble will host a big band jazz festival on Wednesday, March 28th beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the Church-McKee Arts Center on the Potomac State College campus. This free concert will feature the entertaining sounds of various jazz ensembles from schools in the surrounding area.
Participating school bands this year include: Braddock Middle, Washington Middle, Frankfort Middle, Keyser Middle, Westmar Middle, Fort Hill High School, and Mountain Ridge High School. The festival host, PSC/Community Jazz Ensemble, will also perform during the program.
The festival has developed into a popular annual event that has showcased many young musicians and their bands over the past several years.
The public is encouraged to attend this free event, and in doing so, they help support the education and performance of jazz music in our schools.
