West Virginia University Potomac State College will hold several sports camps this summer on the Keyser campus, beginning with the Soccer Camp from June 18-21. This youth camp is for boys and girls ages 6 to 18 and will meet from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Stayman Field. Campers will have the opportunity to develop a solid foundation as they learn the fundamentals of soccer through creative teaching exercises. Goalkeepers will receive individual training, and teams may register as well. Additionally, the first 50 campers will receive a free camp ball. Campers should bring shin guards, cleats, and tennis shoes. The Fun Sports Camp will run from June 25-28. This youth camp is for boys and girls ages 6 to 12 and will meet from 9 a.m. to noon in Lough Gymnasium. Campers will have fun staying active as they participate in various sports, including soccer, basketball, whiffle ball, bowling, flag football, and tennis. Campers will also play nerf wars and board games. Campers should wear comfortable clothing and tennis shoes. Additionally, all campers will receive a free T-shirt. The Summer Baseball Camp will run from July 9-12. This youth camp is for ages 6 to 13 and will meet from 9:30 a.m. to noon at Golden Park. Campers will learn the fundamentals of baseball, including all aspects of infield and outfield defense, hitting, pitching, catching, and base running, with each camper receiving individual instruction in all facets of the game. Campers should bring baseball gloves, bats, batting gloves, baseball shoes, caps, catcher’s equipment, and uniform pants or clothing suitable for play. The Summer Turf Camp will run from July 16-19. This youth camp is for boys and girls ages 6 to 12 and will meet from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at Stayman Field. Activities will include speed kickball, stickball, flag football, flaxball, soccer, outdoor basketball, water games, relays, and ultimate Frisbee. Campers should wear comfortable clothing and tennis shoes. Additionally, all campers will receive a free T-shirt. All campers will be divided by age and skill level, and should bring a water bottle and sunscreen with them.
